GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Type of therapeutic radiation: electrons
  • Number of electron therapeutic energies (min. 3)
  • The lowest energy of the therapeutic beam max. 6 MeV
  • The highest energy of the therapeutic beam min. 12 MeV
  • Built-in motorized beam stopper, mechanically interlocked to the head position
  • The beam stopper should automatically follow the movements of the head with an accuracy of 1 cm, including when underneath the surgical table or obscured by surgical drapes
  • Built-in, autonomous cooling system
Internal shielding limits stray radiation to 0.3 uSv/Gy at 3m distance from the patient plane
  • Device Mobility – Built in moving and steering system to easily move a complete unit between operating room
  • Maximum weight of system running (portable) parts including beam stopper: max. 1 500 kg
  • Soft Docking (no contact between the applicator and treatment head)) alignment system.
  • The docking system shall use cameras or lasers, shall be interlocked to assure proper alignment and shall automatically assist in the alignment process.
  • System shall comply and be consistent with AAPM Task Group 72 for mobile IORT electron linacs
  • At least ten (10) operational linacs of the same model and energy range in clinical operation around the world
